THE METROPOLITAN MARKET, TO-DAY'S SALE. (Per the "Star" Pigeon Express.) There was a moderate attendance of buyers at the Addington saleyards to-day. Entries of stock, generally speaking, were not up to recent figures. The beef market wan easier, but store sheep continued to sell well. FAT CATTLE. The yarding of beef was not up to that of last week, and there was a preponderance of light beasts. The. market opened badly, nenrly a dozen pens being passed in tho first four races. Then matters improved for all classes, but heifer and cow beef sold at, a lower level than of late. One big Hereford bullock brought £27. The following was the range of prices: Extra prime steers to £2l. Pijme steers, £l3 15s to £-20. Oidinary steers, £lO 10s to £l3 10a. Extra prime cows to £lB ss.
