A long discussion ensued as to the Balo of calves' veils to the New Zealand Rennet Company, tho chairman stating that if 200 veils had .been sold by tho company they could have bought.rennet at £22 per teg, instead of having to pay £32. At tbo close of the meeting tho hat was passed round on behalf of the Trench Comforts Fund, and a good sum was realised. Votes of thanks were passed to tho directors, manager and staff. At the subsequent mooting of directors, Mr •S. .J. Vogan was re-elected chairman. Correspondence was read from the Akaroa Advisory Committee, asking how many men would be required to work tho factory. The Canterbury Central Dairy Company wrote, asking support,.of its nomination'of Mr J. B. Thicker a3'"representative for Canterbury on the South Island Dairy Association. Tho request was agreed to. Accounts amounting to £118.73 6d were passed for'payment.
