SMALL TABLE OWNERS' TOURNAHE NT. Tho above tournament was -.ontiiiued in Messrs Alcock and C'o.'s showrooms en Monday night. There was a large attendance. It was anticipated that in the opening; gsuno between L. J. Taylor (owe 75) and J. S. Gray (rec. 50) Eorno really pood hiU Hards would be seem. Taylor, however, appeared to be quite unable to settle down to his giame, and only once—when ho made a break of 86—did ho show anything like his usual good form. Gray, on the other hand, appeared quite at home and scored consistently, running; to his 250 points when Taylor's score stood at 243. firav's best breaks wero 26, 18, 12, 11, 10, and Taylor's best were 36, 25, 23, 10, 13, 12 and 11.
In the second game, G. T. Mulcock (rec. 65) v. W. N. Seay (rec. 60), both player appeared to be somewhat nervous and did not put up any big breaks, Mulcock finally scoring his 23<) points when Saay was 224. 'fho third game, J. S. Gray v. G. T. Mulcock, was very evenly contested, naid Mulcock, after putting together breaks of 28, 17 and 17, looked very much like winning. Gray, however, played good billiards, and, making breaks of 20, 15, 15 and 12, scored his 250 points when Mulcock was 224. The competition will be continued on Wednesday evening, when the third round and semi-finals will be completed.
