MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

QUEEN'S OWN LODGE. The annual social of tho Quean's Own Lodge, No. 30, P.A., was held in the Orange Hall on Monday night, W.M. Brother J. E. Cooper presiding over a large number of members and friends. During the evening two presentations were made, the first of a past muster's collar to the 1.P.M., Brother John Ballantyne, and ..the second to Brother Joseph Glasson, who has filled the position as Inner Guard for over twenty years. He was presented with a lodge medallion suitably inscribed, and a framed lodeo certificate. Tho presentations were made by tho cllairnian, and both recipients suitably renlied. During tho evoning n, prolamine of songs, ducts, recitutionß, Highland dancing soid ventriloquism whb contributed by members imd friends. Those contributing- being: Misses Whittakor, Richards, Macintosh and Clarice, Mesdames Scott, M'Jarrow, Marsden, M«sßrs Allan, Bnynon and Marsden. Miss Innes played the accompaniments for tho vocal items. Piper Taylor for the Highland dances, and Mr W. H. Bettle for the dancing. P.D.G.M. Brother J. Middleton gave a short address, referring: to the world war, and tho part played by a number of members. Ho mentioned four members who were prosent who had received their military m* charge.
