ST JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION.

i MEETING OF GENERAL COMMITTEE. The Genera 1 Committee of the St John Ambulance Association met last evening, Mx A. E. G. Rhodes presiding. In moving a hearty vote of thanks to all those who assißtod on Ambulance Da£ t the chairman stated that the collection constituted a record, and said a great deal for th« work of the. helpers. He thought it, would strengthen tlio hands ot all connected with association to feel that the. public supported the body so -well. The. motion v;as carried unanimously, and it -was further decided to forward a letter of thanks to each of the nursing- division. Tho secretary- reported that a. meeting of the Motor Ambulance Sub-committee had been held that afternoon. The donations to date were £4OO. The chairman said that Mrs A. Z. G. Rhode a wished to contribute £SO towards the purchase price of tho ambulance. He would give i'loo towards the. upkeep, but the committee could use that amount as they thought best. It. was decided that Dr Louisson, Mr Clarkson, iLieuteuant-Colonel Cre swell and a representative from the Canterbury Jockey Club should be a sub-committee to select the type of car aud act. It was resolved to announce subscriptiono in the, newspapers and to solicit other (subscriptions. . The balance-sheet showed the receipt-; to have been £SSS 0s JOd. and the expenditure j JS37 16s Hd. It was pointed out that the delay sometimes occurred on arrival at the hospital, as a patient had to be kept or. stretcher i until the formalities' regarding admission were gone through. Thompson, John Mbunder, Frank Grousky, Edward G. Bennett, Major Teichelmanu, Mabel E. Wood, Florence A. Thompson. Kato E. O'Sullivan, Kate Carley, Marfrary Freitas Hoe-nan, Eitaau Fergnason and James Fitzsimrnons. ,
