Despite Mr Lansing's efforts to maintain secrecy, it now appears that a German or Austrian submarine fired ten times at tho American steamer Oswego in the Mediterranean, many Americans aboard narrowly escaping. Mr Lansing seat a secret Note to Berlin, which replies that it knows nothing of any such attack, lfr is not believed that any further action will be taken.
