DECLARATION OF WAR.
FRIDAY'S MEETING
'Hie Major has arranged that the patriotic mooting on Friday to commemorate the declaration of v/ar v.ill be held at 12.30 p-ni. If the weather is favourable it- will bo hold in Cathedral Square, if not it will be hold in the King Edward Barrack. The proposal that, in case of bad weather, the meeting should be held in the barracks in the evening, hag been abandoned in favour of tho daylight meeting. The rootiou submitted will be moved by the Mayor and seconded by Mr A. Boyle, president of the Canterburv brar.ch of the Navy be supported' by Mr G. T. Booth and others.
Business people are ;t>kod to close their premises between ]2.10 and 1.15 p.m.
