QUEEN'S THEATRE.
The new programme to be shown at 'tho Queen's Theatre on Monday will I>o headed by a big dramatic picture entitled " Fruits of Desire;" which will feature tho well-known screen favourite, Robert Warwick. The picture is adapted from the book "The Ambition of Mark Truitt," and tells the story of a country lad who has an overpowering ambition to become a great power in the steel industry. He leaves his country home and enters a steel inill, starting at the bottom, and relentlessly working his way up until ha js in a position of power. In his earlier years the shop foreman's daugh-ter-was his lover, but ho deserts her. and returning home, marries a girl in his own town and establishes steel mills in tho peaceful valley which he first lived in. The couple become estranged and are divorced and in the loneliness of his lifo Truitt realises how hollow has been his victory. Ilf seeks out the girl who loved him and all ends happily. 'Hie film contains many gripping scenes and is well acted. The supporting programme comprises the latest "Eclair Journal" and a comedy picture, "A Spanish Lovo J3pasm."
