. Commencing on Monday at 11 a.m. the now- programme to be shown at Starland will bo headed by "Wildfiower," which is described as one or the finest films yet produced Jby the Famous Players Company. The picture features the great screen favouvite, M a rgeur ite Clark, and is of additional interest from the fact, that it is the film in which this noted actress made her first " movie success. The story is said to be a delightful tale of innocence and youth, and having been filmed amid the woods, gives ample scope for some photographic studies of light, and shade of more than average merit. The story told is wholesome, throughout, and has a deep current of love interest. Miss Clark is supported in " Wildflowor" by a specially selected company. The programme will also include a comedy, " Bathing Suits and Belles,'' and the latest Avar topical " Gazette." ; " MOTHER GOOSE." Besides a deal of imported talent there is considerable Australian ability displayed in the J. C. Williamson ""Mother "Goose " pantomime. Prominent is Miss Maggie Dickinson, who besides being the leading danseuse, is a. comedienne of much promise. W hen in Australia,* Madame Genee, the world's dancer, was so struck pith the style of Miss Dickinson that ahe -l\pnoured her with several private lessons in the art- One of the big features of the oantomime is the "Ballet of !tlie 'Allies," in which the clever lady dances a series of national dances. Her exposition or the character of Gretchen," Mother Goose's superior maid of all work, is said to be an artistic cameo. According to Mr Arthur Stigant, he feels almost as comfortable and at home in petticoats as in his ordinary mundane costume. Mr Stigant has played "dame" parts successively for something like r twenty years. Last, year he was the " Ugly Sister " m " Cinderella " —this year he will be seen as " Mother Goose," a character that should give luni splendid scope for his undoubted humour. Mr Stigant possesses the power of making nis audience laugh with him. a different thing from laughing at him. A bornjiumorist, he gets the last ounce of fun otlt of a situation, in a refined and delicate way. Lillian do Venny, who will be seen as " Colin," is said to be the best 1 ' principal bov*' in the business today. Miss de" Venny is tall and willowy, has an exceptionally fine figure and good singing voice. She is one of the noted English lady motorists, travels with, her own 60 horse-power Mercedes car, and has won several important races at Brooklands, England. Miss do Venny is also a crack shot with the rifle, and has carried oft several good prizes at Bisley.
