THE ENQIRY. Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association. (Received July 21, 2.50 p.m.) LONDON, July 20. In the House of Commons Mr Asquith stated that ho would shortly introduce a Bill naming the Commissioners to inquire into the Dardanelles and Mesopotamia campaigns and giving compulsory powers. Sir Edward Carson withdrew his motion. It is understood from the Premier's statement that Sir William Robertson and Mr Chamberlain were satisfied that everything was being done to remedy the disastrous state of affairs in Mesopotamia, and that ho was confident that Sir William Robertson was ,a man not to be influenced by politician*. Mr Asquith moved the adjournment of the debate on the understanding that debate would be confined to his statement. Colonel Winston Churchill said he hoped the .inquiry would bo as public as possible. Mr Asquith in reply to this suggestion said the Commission would sit in secret if it wero necessary.
