OBITUARY.
JOHN WASS. Mr John Wass, who died at Christchurch on July 7, was born at Sleaford, England, in 1854. Ho learnt the carpentering and joinery trade at Carl-ton-lee-Moorland, and worked for some time in tho Midland Company's railway carriage shop at Derby. In 1883 he left England for Queensland, hat afterwards removed to Sydney. In 1884 he arrived in New Zealand. He was a member of the Loyal Perseverance Lodge. 1.0.0. F., M.U., for many years, and of the 1 Amalgamated Society of Carpenters, and Joiners for thirtyeight years. Mr Wass was an earnest worker in St John's Church. Woolstcm, and held tho positions of churchwarden and vestryman for many years. He leaves a widow, three sons and seven daughters. WILLIAM ANDREW GLYNAN. Tho death is announced of Mr Willi ara Andrew Glynan, of Akaroa. after a few days' illness. He was born in 1861 at Onuku, Akaroa. and was engaged in farming pursuits. In his youth he achieved a reputation as an athlete and a sportsman. For some time he served on the Akaroa Borough Council.
