A conference, will be held between tho Federal Ministery of tho Navy and the shipping companies with a view to arranging for the control of all shipping between Australian ports by the Na,val Department, tho companies to retain tho management of thg various lines and the Admiralty to dicta to rates of freight and tho tonnage into tho channels of greatest value to the Commonwealth. This action is the outcome of the difficulty experienced by tho State Governments in securing tho delivery of coal for tho railways.
