Captain J. B. Davis, who left New Zealand with the Main Expeditionary Force, has cabled from London to his father. Maior H. F. Private advice has been received in Wellintgon that Lieutenant J. Naylor, formerly chief officer of the Komata. who left Wellington early last year for London by the Karamea in order to offer his services to the -Admiralty, has been laid up in England for the last three months with pneumonia, but hopes to rejoin his ship Lieutenant Naylor is well known in Wellington. On arrival in Eneland last year he was posted to H.M.S. Seagull as sub-lieutenant. Ho was lator promoted to lieutenant, and, at the time of beinfr taken ill, was senior navigating officer of a destroyer flotilla.
