SUPERINTENDENT DWYER'S MEMORIES.

It is not generally known that Superintendent Dwver, in charge of the Christchurch police headquarters, was born in the same district as was the late-Lord Kitchener, his family's laud adjoining that of Lord Kit.'lienor's undo, Mr Blakeney Kitchener. Superintendent Dwyer lias many interesting memories of the Kitchener family, but in speaking to-day to a ''Star" representative, lie preferred not to say anything for publication except that he was born about three miles from Cratta Mills (Co. Kerry), which were owned by the late Lord Kitchener's father. The district was a centre for sport, particularly fox-hunting. Kitchener's uncle, Mr Blakoney Kitchener, Mas rary popular with the Irish lads, as he allowed them the use of his paddock for football and other sports. Superintendent Dwver did not know Lord Kitchener when a lad, as the lattcr's family moved from the district when ho was young; but the Superintendent naturally took great interest in the career of' his famous compatriot and deeply regrets his tragic end.
