KAIAPOI MINIATURE RIFLE ASSOCIATION.
ANNUAL MEETING. The seventh annual meeting of the Kaiapoi Miniature Rifle Association was held on Thursday. Delegates were present from the Kaiapoi Territorials, Kaiapoi "Working Men's Club, "Woodend, Waikuku, Ohoka and Southbrcok Clubs. The vice-president (Mr J. Little) presided. • The balance-sheet showed a credit of £'s lis 9d. Tli© report referred to Ihe continued success of the sport in the district, detailed the operations of the season and concluded with the desire of the association that, as marksmanship was all important in the present world struggle, tho clubs should secure a full membership. The report and. balancesheet were adopted. Officers weve elected as follow:—Patron, the Hon D. Buddo; president, Mr "W. Simpson: vice-presidents, Messrs T. Shiitou (Rangiora), F. Richards (Territorials), D. Hewitt, jun. fWoodend). "W. Barrett (Tua•hiwi). R. Parkin (South'brook), T. M'Millan (Waiicuku) and C. H. Walker (Ohoko); committee, delegates from Kaiapoi, "Working Men's Club and Territorials; selcetcr and classifier, Mr J. Bryden: honorary secretary and treasurer, Mr H. Trustrum; auditor, Mr J. L. Conlan; referee, Mr T. Drabble. Mr TV. J. Ellis was congratulated on his efficient work as secretary and treasurer, voted an honorarium of £2 2s. which he handed back as a trophy to be shot for. It was decided that entries for the season's competitions should close on April 22 ftnd the matches should commence in the second week in Mar. A vote of sympathy with the president. Mr "W. Simpson," on the death of his mother, was carried in silence. It was decided that in all competitions the target shall not be turned during a shoot.
