ANZAC DAY.
TO THE EDITOR. gi r> —With the anniversary of the eventful day of the landing of the !New Zealand soldiers at Gallipoli Peninsula close at hand, it is the duty of the citizens of the Dominion to fittingly commemorate the occasion, and what.more appropriate way could such a historical day be commemorated' than by remembering, our gallant soldier son 3 who now' lie .sleeping their last long sleep on this world famous battlefield? I would suggest—pending more elaborate measures —that the names of the Canterbury soldiers who have fallen in the cause" of the Empire be inscribed on a pedestal tablet, and that the afternoon of April 25—Anzac Day—be set aside for the unveiling of thes° name?; —with all due-religious, military and civic ccnnnonv.—l am, etc., *LEST WE FORGET.
