POLICE COURT NEWS.

TO-DAY'S CASES. Seven people wero charged at the Police Court this morning, each with drunkenness and- one also for using ob- , scene language in a- public place. ' Mr H. W. Bishop, who presided,, despatched tho necessary business within foiir minutes.' DRUNKENNESS. Four first, offenders pleaded guilty, and were each lined ss, in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. One requested time to pay, but the application was refused'. William Adams, a second offender', was fined 10s, in default forty-eight hours' imprisonment. Laura Hunter was convicted and discharged. SOLDIER'S WIFE CHARGED. Hannah Jean Little pleaded guilty to being drunk in Belfast Street, and was fined' ss, in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. To a second charge of using obscene Language she declared that she did not remember using the words complained of. Mr Bishop: Has she any record? Sub-Inspector Mullany: No, sir. Her husband is at the front, and she is living with another man. Mr Bishop (to accused): You must keep a clean mouth or keep away from the street. I cannot overlook language such as you used. You will he fined 40s. in default on 3 month's imprisonment. JUDGMENT SUMMONS. Frank Carter was ordered to pav £ls Bs. by instalments of 2s 6d weekly, to William John Hardyment, in default eighteen days' imprisonment.
