HONOUR OF THIEVES.
* DRAMATIC COURT INCIDENT. A youna man named Saunders was charged at Highgate, London, last month with being concerned in a burglary with a man named Usher, who is undergoing penal Rrrvittide. It was stated that Saunders was in khaki when the burglary was committed. He was suspected, but he said he was looking for the burglar, and was allowed to go. Usher, who was brought into Court ■by warders, said that Saunders '""as with him, and they broke into the houso together. Saunders then pleadied guilty. Ho said: " Usher has turned on a pal. It ia scandalous. Honour among thieves has failed me. Now it is my turn to say something." Ho hesitated, looked at. Usher, and, addressing him as "Tick," said: "I have not got the heart to say it." Usher: "You all left me in my trouble You had £2O worth of stuff, but never gava my wife a penny, and let her be turned out of houso and home." Saunders: "Tick, believe me, I kept the whole of the property in tile garden. It was found the next morning. Now, Tick, say you are sorry. You are, aren't you?" Usher: "1 am sorry/' Saunders: " And I forgive you." , Saunders was committed for trial.
