MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meetiug ot the general committee in charge of Flag Day. which will talc;; place 011 October -land 22. was held this afternoon, Mrs T. The secretary reported that the City Council had granted permission for the committee to erect a. temporary &tail on tho south side of the God ley Statue for tlie sale o~ Hags toid photographic post card's on October 21 and 22 in aid ot the fund for naval hospitals and hospital ship> which lias been inaugurated' by Lord Charles Beresr'ordft was reported that the various subcommittees had their arrangements well in hand. Several additional offers of motor-cars, were ivevirod and. accepted. The secretary sfa tod that about 2(30 helpers had offered their services lor the occasion. . It was decided to display n photograph of 11..M.5. New Zealand and a model of the lio?rpital ship in tlie ,stai! in the Square, if spa.ee permitted. Ir, was resolved to leave the arrangements for the competition in which tlie public: will be asked !o find " Mr Spondulicks,'' in the hands of Mr .J. .1. Dougali nud n. committee selected *by himself. The secretary stated' that the idea was to persuade xotne prominent.eiti'Keu to act: as '' Mr Spnudidihs :s and to lie in the Square disguised at % certain hour, w*,ieh will be advertised, and the. nrsi jvtsou weari>g ;i badge who succeeds in finding hint will receive a reward.
