ROLL OF HONOUR.
UNVEILED AT NEW BRIGHTON. A "roll of honour" containing the names of seventy-eight ex-pupils of the New Brighton Borough School was unveiled at New Brighton this afternoon in the presence of a large attendance. The Territorials, Cadets, Boy and Uirl Scouts, Marine Band, Fire Brigade and Rational Reserve turned out in force, while representatives of the Borough Council and other bodies were also present. On the platform were Mr J. A. Flesher (Mayor of New Brighton), Mr F. H. Christian (chairman of the school eommitee), Mr C. H. Opie (representing the Education Board), Mr C. H. Winny, the Revs H. H. Matthias and' 'i\ T. Harm and' M. Malaquin. Patriotic addresses were delivered by the Mayor, Mr J. A. Flesher, Mr C. H. Winny, Mr C. H. Opie, and Mr F. H. Christian. Mus'cal items were rendered by the Marine Band and the Boys' Drum and Fife Band. Advantage was taken of the occasion by the Mayor to make a presentation to Chief Scoiitmistress Thompson, who is leaving for an extended holiday owing to ill-nealth. The roll shows that fifty-two families ■of New Brighton have one son serving the Empire. Ten have'two sons, while two families have three sons serving.
