LUCKY NELSON.
EXCELLENT FRUIT PROSPECTS. [Per Press Association.] NELSON, October 2. Whilst a drought has been experienced in the south. Nelson has had one of the best growing springs in the memorv <# the oldest farmers, there having* been a plentiful supply of rain at intervals, and crops never looked better. Orchards arc also doing well, and as far as ca.'n bo judged' at present .there is every indication of an excellent crop. 1-iundreds of thousands, of apple trees are rapidly coming into bearing, and all trees hear'indications of heavy crops. Prolific hearing, however, is not an unmixed blessing, especially with pears, for unless great care is exercised' orchardists may find the trees broken to pieces by the overweight of fruit.
