NEW ZEALAND AMATEUR. SWIMMING ASSOCIATION. A special meoting of tho Canterbury mom-' bers of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association was held at the Municipal Uatus last evening. Mr G. Reece presided. 'lhe meeting was called to consider motions puv forward by Messrs E. Etdridge and JJ. Cou.ter. The annual meeting; of the North Canterbury Am.ueur Swimming Club was held last night m Kangiora. when Mr H. H. Dix presided over an attendance of fourteen, members. Tho report stated that the membership ha;l decreased during the year from 109 to S2. Eleven members of the dub were on active serv.c.e and two more were waiting to go to 'irentham. The last (season had not been very successful from a swimming ptint of view, owing mainly to the prevalence of cold easterly winds. The bath had not been sc well attended as in previous years, and very few entries had been received for the races held. The club's carnival had been raosi successful. The balance-sheet sh.wed tha the receipts had amounted to £55 18s 6d and tho expenditure to £l9 l&s 4d, leaving n credit balance of £6 0s -2d. The stun of £l3 15s had been received as donations to the trophy fund, and trophies to the value o. £2l 4s 9d had been given during the year. The report and balance-sheet were adanted. Officers were elected as follow Patrons, Hon D. Buddo, M.P., iho Mayor (Mr C. L Jennings), Majcr ti. JorCon and Dr T. A. Will; president, Mr W. Wilson; vice-presi-dents, Messrs H. C. D. van A sell, \V. S Shilton and E. B. P. Brown; club captain, Mr J. Kiniev; deputy ca.p'.nin, Mr J. Jordan; honorary secre, ary and treasurer. Mr S. L. Patereon; honorary auditor. Mr C. J Jennings; genera., committee. T. Hills, T. Blake. Cobden Cox. L. W. Wi'son and E. E. Crawshaw; delegates to the Centre. Messrs E. Xor don and R. Hamil on. Fourteen resignations were received and accepted, and one member was elected.
