i A GERMAN REGIMENT. i j By Telegraph.—Prers Association. —Copyright, j (Received October 1. 9.10 a.m.) | PETROGRAD, September 30. i An infantry regiment suddenly attacked the Russian positions in the Eckau district, and, despite a murderous machine-gun fire, advanced rapidly. The Russians sent out three armoured motors, against which the German bullets TCre powerless, and the regiment was practically annihilated. A small force of guerillas, consisting of peasantry whose homes had been burnt, surrounded a German column in Uho Pi risk marshes.
