TO-DAY'S CASES. (Before Air H. W. Bishop, S.M.) DRUXKEJfNESS. Henry Frost appswtxl on remand charged with having been drunk in Colombo Street and with procuring liquor while prohibited. He was convicted and discharged. Thomas Chapman, a fifth offender within the past six months, was sentenced to fourteen days' hard labour. John Campbell, charged with his second offence within the past fiix months, was fined 10a, in default fortyeight hours' imprisonment. Matilda Ewing (Mr M. Donnelly), charged with a breach of her prohibition. order, was convicted and discharged. ALLEGED FORGERY. Lucy Pullman, a .neatly-dressed girl, eighteen years of age, for whom Mr Ca.s«idy appeared, appeared cm remand, charged that on August 10, at Christchurch, she forged the name of L. Davis to a receipt for a money-order telegram for 10s, knowing it to be false. Accused was remanded till Wednesday, October 6, bail being allowed, self in £oo and one surety of £SO. MAINTE NAXCE. Michael O'Oonnell (Mr Twyneham), £62 13s in arrears on two maintenance orders, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment on each charge, the. warrant to be suspended provided lie paid oft tho arrears at the rate of £1 per week. Patrick O'Malley applied for the cancellation of art order requiring liim to contribute towards the maintenance of his son. The application was granted, and tho arrears were remitted.
