ATHLETES' CARNIVAL.
A BIG PROGRAMME. The Athletes' Club Carnival promises to be a distinct success. Certainly tho programme to be presented is so diversified and varied that it will appeal to all tastes. The choral efforts of 2(H) odd small boys, if not showing a high degree of technical training, will lack nothing in both vigour and enthusiasm. On tho other hand the Farmers' Co-operative Association choir, whicn has justly earned a splendid reputation throughout Canterbury, will render part songs and other vocal numbers during the afternoon. Action songs, ea toh-as-catch-can wrestling", ball-punching, jiu- juitsu, single-sticks, foils, international tug-of-war and athletic items galore will complete tho programme. The object of the carnival, tho S;<£ and Wounded Fund, should benefit to a considerable extent by tho efforts of the athletes and their friends.
