FIGHTS NEAR VILNA.
ENEMY DRIVEN BACK. PRISONERS AND MATERIAL CAPTURED. The High Commissioner reports:— LONDON. September 27, 11.15 a.m. Tho Russians captured' Resterka, in the neighbourhood 1 of Vilna. 11l tho same district, the fortified village of Ostroff was carried with a bayonet charge. The enemy was driven, out of the trenches near the village of Old Kolichitay. Six hundred German prisoners and quantities of munitions and waggons were taken. Tho village of captured after a sanguinary bayonet charge- The Germans were driven across the Strumen, abandoning numerous wound'ed and quanti- ; ties of munitions. j j i
