HOLY TRINITY CLUB. COURT OPENED TODAY. Some months ago the parishioners of Holy Trinity Church. Lytteltou, moved in tlio matter of forming a tenuis club.. The proposal was takon. up enthusiastically, and sufficient 'funds were soon forthcoming: to enable a section to bo purchased in Winchester Street, at tho near of the Sunday School. Bv the issuing of debentures tho club was placed on a sound financial basis, and a contract was let for the construction of a well .appointed court: The latter was completed some days ago, and this afternoon tho opportunity was taken to officially opon tho court. There was a large ivttendanae of parishioners and friends, including the Rev Canon Coates, late pastor of Holy Trinity Church. The' Rev Canon Coates. in declaring the court open, congratulated the parishioners on the suocoss of their enterprise. He trusted that adherent* to the church would toceive all benefit spiritually and otherwise. The Rev 3. R. Hewland also addressed, those present. He outlined the 'initial steps taken to form a club and the raising of money for the construction of the court. The membership of tho club was steadily growing, and before long would be a credit to members of tho Church of England in lybtelton.
