COUNTRY EDITION.
PUBLISHED AT 4 P.M. QUICK CHANGE ARTISTS. COMMONWEALTH NOTE THEFT. WAS CAREFULLY PLANNED COUP. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyrights. (Received January 9, 11.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, January 9. Investigations regarding the recent disappearance of £2OOO worth of Commonwealth notes show a carefully planned coup. Parcels of useless papfer replaced the parcels of notes, copying the latter to the smallest detail. Apparently the coup was carried out after the parcels had left the hands of the Treasury and postal officials.
