BALLOT FOR MEN TO-DAY.
TWENTY FOR LYTTELTON ROAD.
Twenty meu are to be afternoon to go to work on the bum-ne'r-Lvttelton Road. Preference will he given in the first, place'.to those in the greatest need, and those that have had tbe least work, and the ballot will take place among their 1 number. ■' ' It was thought that the selection would be made this morning, and a large'crowd'assembled, but they_ were put off till the afternoon, as it is not clear when they will have to start work.
