(Special to the " Star.") WELLINGTON, October 22. In reference to tho Auckland telegram that a communication had been addressed to ten woollen mills in New Zealand asking them to inform the Defence Department how much khaki they could supply to meet the requirements of the New Zealand Government and the Imperial authorities, the clefdnco authorities stat that ten mills m the dominion were asked confidentially to quote the quantities and the cost ot the khaki they could manufacture for the Imperial and New Zealand Governments if required. No open order had been given.
