MAKING KHAKI.
DOHEDOf SAYS "WE CANT.
[l'eu Press Association.] DUivliiXLN, October 13,
Inquiries into tho possibility of making" Khaki for clothing the Imperial troops show that, local opinion is to the effect that New Zealand will not undertake do much, if anything, in the direction proposed. One reason is that rally four mills, at the most, in tho Dominion possess plant for weaving cloth for tunics and trousers, and some of milk are now working at their full capacity. Tho rates of pav are also a factor, being higher in Nov; Zea'and than in other places where khaki is made. Another difficulty is freight and' «ther charges.
