SEA ENCROACHMENT.
WORKS WASHED AWAY. FURTHER DAMAGE YESTERDAY. [Per Pkess Association.] HOKITIKA, June ». In spite of the neap tides a very heavy sea was experienced yesterday. This'caused further sea erosion at the rear of Revell Street, cutting in considerably and washing away a portion of the protective works that previously had withstood the attack. The groynes arc only now approaching a position where it is hoped they may'bo. effectual in preventing further damage.
