THESE WITH A SMILE.
THE HAMLET REFORMER. A circular reached the " Star" office to-day by half-penny post. Our readers shall have it in all its quaint originality. It reads in the following manner: — PUBLIC NOTICE. Although rumours have been circulated locally by irresponsibles to the contrary, I will contest the Sehvyn electorate on behalf of the- Reform Party at the next election, and since the value of victory is generally'measured by the fierceness of the tussle I iviil not complain of my opponents' energy. Even though it be a fight that will warm the heart cockles of an embalmed warrior in the catacombs, the better I will be pleased. Having been born and raised in that noble University called "Hard Knocks," I have a thorough grasp and meaning of the word "consistency"— which says much. Therefore Ido not claim any relationship to the Gelatined-Spined-Shrimp typo of manhood. When the gong sounds I will be there .with a smjle; we shall then see what we shall see!. JOSEPH HAMLET. March 14th, 1914.
