Mr Cook, Federal Premier, speaking at Sandringhnm, said that ho considered Mr Holman's figures concerning the light taxation of New South Wales were a piece of sheer political effrontery. "There never was a more hollow mockery than to assert that the three years' Labour rule bud given us industrial peace. Labour rule has signalised the fratricidal policy of striking and the creation of a class hatred which is increasing in this State today. This feeling has and well reduce- the effectiveness of the working man's wages. Mr Hoimaii, in his Budget speech, said that New South Wrl«?s was the most lightly taxed Slate of the Commonwealth, paying only 17s 3d per head of population.
