TRAIN DISASTER.
SMASH NEAR SYDNEY. SIGNALS BIDDEN BY MIST. SCENES OF WILD CONFUSION. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright, (Received March 1-1, 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 14. A Wain smash occurred at Exeter, on the-southern line. Full details are not available. The Tern or a mail train from Sydney crashed into a stationary goods train, telescoping a passenger car and a sleep-ing-car and derailing the engine. The wildest confusion resulted. Belief trains, conveying officials and doctors, have been despatched. Rpin and mist obscuring the. signals are believed to have caused tho collision. Among the killed were : Fred. Keezengogan, M.ittngong. Alice Eva, Cootnmundra." , James Eva, Paramatta. Two wonion and one man, whose names are unknown, and the guard of tho mail train wore also killed. It is officially stated that fourteen persons were killed and six injured.
