LABOUR AND LIBERALS.

BRINGING THEM TOGETHER. MEETING IN OHRISTCHUROH. Between fifty and sixty persons attended, a meeting held in the Druids' .Hall on Tuesday evening to_ form a Liberal and Labour Association. Mr H. M'Gloin presided, and addresses were given by Messrs H. G. Ell, M.P., G. W. Russell, M.P; and a Witty, M.P., and also by Mr D. Denneby, organiser of the Liberal Party. On the motion of Mr P. C. Gerard, seconded by Mr T. Turner, it was unanimously decided that a. Liberal and Labour Association .should be formed for the Canterbury district. A provisional committee of thirteen members was appointed to prepare a' report to be submitted to another meeting, which will be held in about two weeks. • It was announced to the ladies present that a ladies' committee would be formed aV a later date. The committee will meet on Monday evening.
