PREFERENCE.

NON-UNIONISTS DISMISSED. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, March 13. For a- day or two past, a member of the executive of the \Vharf Labourers' Union has been making personal inquiries among the men working on the waterfront, and found several at work who were not members of the Union. To-day several of these men were dismissed, on the ground that frequent warnings had been given from time to time that all wharf workers must join the Union. It is reported that some of the men had been boasting that they would not join the Union.
