OBITUARY.

MRS. ANN ROBINSON. : ' One more of the fast-thinning band. of Canterbury pioneers passed away/' in the person ot Mrs" Ann Robinson, ' who died on November 9, in ' her eighty-fifth year, at the residence of! ; her daughter, Mrs T. E. Fraser. The/ deceased lady, who was born in Hampshire, arrived at Lyttclton in thb'ship 1 ' Zealandia in 1858, : so that she had :,: been a resident in Canterbury for/ about * fifty-five years. After a -stay of a year in the Papanui district she accompanied her husband, the lat© J. J. Robinson, to Southbrook, and later to Rangiora, where they had their full share of'the hardships and jplea- . sures of those times. Mr Robinson afterwards became town clerk of, Rangiora, and also Prov. *C. S v . of Qddfellows. for the Ashley which office he retained until,"' his/ death, in 1886. In the early dajs the province Mrs" Robinson's home];' was the centre of much hospitality;"' especially to the preachers who visited Rangiora in connection with the Baptist oause there'. After her husbancPs death Mrs Robinson removed to Christohurch, where she has live&very quietly ever since.
