Mr August Belmont refused an offer of £40,000 for Tracery, made after am offer of £36,000 had failed to Induce him to part with the horse. The offer was made last month by the " Special Commissioner" of the London "Sportsman," and a condition wa»s that Tracery should not leave England'. The trophy presented to the owner of the winner of the latest Melbourne Cup consists of a handsome silver centrepiece, "of unique design and is valued at 150 sovs. The trophy stands 2ft 6in high.. Thanks to his son Beragoon, Multiform was at the head of the list of winning stallions for the season 1913-14 up to November 1. It is rumoured in Dunedin that more is likely to be heard of the Bermaline lease which arose in connection with that mare's running at Forbury Park last season.
