Tho hemp market is dull. OctoberDecember shipments £29. COTTON. Cotton, November-December deliveries, is quoted at 7.13 d. RUBBER. Para rubber is quoted at 3s 6d, plantation 2s 4d and smoked 2s 7d. LEAD. The imports of lead were 15,355 tons, including 2073 tons from Australia, and the exports 6043 tons. • .', WHEAT. Tho quantity of wheat afloat for the United Kingdom is 1,850,000 quarters, for tho Continent 1,976,000 quarters. Atlantic shipments are 578,000 quarters, and Pacific shipments 14,000 quarters. The total shipments from Europe are 1,540,000 quarters, and from Australasia 67,000 quarters. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, November 17. The Department of Industries and Commerce has received the following cable message from the High Commissioner, dated London November 15. The quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on the spot:— • FROZEN MEAT. Mutton.—The market is firm; Canterbury 4fd. Supplies are nearly exhausted, and quotations are nominal; North Island 4£d for best quality ligh weight. Lamb. —The market is steady; Canterbury twos 6£d, heavy-weight fours 6d. other than Canterbury s£d, for light weight. Beef.—The market is firm. New Zealand hindquarters 4id, forequarters B|d, chilled hindquarters sd, forequarters 3fd. BUTTER, The market is ouiet, but there is noalteration in the prices for Siberian, Argentine and. Australian. The supply exceeds tho demand for unsafted. Danish 129s to 131s, N T ew Zealand 124s to 1265. CHEESE. There has been rio alteration in the market since last week. Canadian white and coloured 65s to 665, r J\ew Zealand white and coloured 63s to 645, English Cheddar 80s to 84s, Dutch white and coloured 61s to 635. HEMP. The Manila market fluctuated a good deal during the week, but closed quietly and steady. Shippers' offerings have been very small, as reports from Manila indicate that the market is active at higher prices, or £1 to £2 above our quotations. Fair current Manila £3O ss, forward shipment £29 153 The output from Manila for the week was 16,000 bales. New Zealand hemp is easier, and for good fair the market is quiet, but steady otherwise at the close of tho market. There are sellers at good fair at £2B 10s, fair £25 10s, and buyers probably at 5s less. COCKSFOOT. The seed market is firmer, and business has been done with Danish at 51s 6d. New Zealand seed has been offered at 51s, but there are no buyers. WOOL. Current Bradford quotations for tops 36's, low cross-breds, 15Jd, 40's, low cross-breds, 15Jd, 44's, medium cross breds, 16d, 50's, half-breds, 19d, 56's, quarter-bredsj 22d, GO'S, merinoes, 274 d. The market is quiet, with a tendency in favour of buyers. The outlook for the next series is a little obscure, but it is not anticipated that prices will show much change. Tho New Zealand Provision and Produce Company has received cabled advice from its Vancouver agents to the effect that the shipment of eggs by the Niagara, which sailed on October 21, realised Is lOfrd'per dozen.
