GOING TO SHOOT.
YOUTH MAKES A THREAT. BUT POLICE RUN HIM DOWN. By TelegTaph—Press Association—Copyright MELBOURNE, November 15. Mr J. Hill, chairman of the Geelong Harbour Trust, received a letter from Western Australia:—"l need £SOO. Unless lodged in the General Post Office, Melbourne, next Tuesday lam going to shoot you. I want money for clothing and medical assistance and to help me generally. If given a chance I shall distinguish myself aa one of the greatest statesmen of modern times." Mr Hill informed the police, who arrested a youth on his arrival from Western Australia by steamer. His effects contained a revolver and fifty cartridges.
