As the result'of shadowing a suspect for several days and overhearing conversations detectives paid a surprise visit to a house at Paddington and after a fierce fight with a suspect, who wounded two detectives with a knuckleduster, he was arrested. Ten bags of jewellery, valued at £IOOO, the proceeds of recent robberies, were seized. The polico declare that a desperate gang of foreign criminals is operating in Sydney. After the seizure a youth named Taylor was arrested, Taylor's arrest was not in oonneotion with tho Paddington jewellery seizure, but on suspicion in connection with a jewellory theft at Woollahra.
