The Japanese Ambassador, , replying on behalf of the diplomatic body, said .that it was a sourco of much gratification to hitu to be able to announce that the relations between Britain and Japan never were more satisfactory. It ■was scarcely necessary to assure Britain that Japan was determined to bo for over loyal to the compact. Ho hoped that the alliance would continue to v stand as a guarantee of peace, and bo the means of consolidating mutual material interests in the Far East.
