LADIES' HOCKEY.' The 1913 season practically' finished witlv the Wanganui tournament. The members of the Canterbury team arrived in Christchurch on Sunday morning, and thev all speak in slowing terms of the good time they have had and of their treatment by the AVangamn people. With the exception of the first game, all their matches were hard, and they are to be very heartily congratulated on their performance. The Floyd Shield, which, as runners-up at the tournament, they won. has been awarded for the first time this year. It is a very handsome trophy, and, as some of the'team laughingly remarked, far more handsome than the cup. On Saturday the Canterbury team played a, game against Wellington prior to the men s shield match, and after the strenuous time at the tournament both teams took things somewhat easy. Canterbury winning"with a goal to spare. The following ""tables give the performances of the different teams that competed at the tournament:—

A SECTION. Canterbury—Won against Taranaki, Manawatu, Hawke's Bay and Buller; lost to Wanganui. Waiiganui—Won against Taranaki and Canterbury; drew with Buller and Manawatu ; lost to Hawke's Bay. Hawkes Bay—Won against Wanganui, Buller and Taranaki; drew with Manawatu ; lost to Canterbury. Manawatu—Won against Buller; drew with Hawke's Bay, Taranaki and Wanganui; lost to Canterbury. Buller—Won against Taranaki; drew with Wanganui; lost to Hawke's Bay, Manawatu and Canterbury. Taranaki—Drew with Manawatu; lost to Buller Canterbury, Wanganui and liawko s Bay. i , B SECTION. Wnirarapa~Won against Southland, Eketahuna West Coast, Wanganui B and Wellington. Wellington—Won against Southland, Eketahuna West Coast and Wanganui B: lost to Wairarapa. Southland—Won against Wanganui B. Eketahuna and West Coast; lost to Wairarapa and Wellington. Eketahuna--Wo„ against AVest Coast and T\ angann. B; lost to Wairarapa, Southland and Wellington West Coast-Won against Wanganui B: lost to Wairarapa. Wellington, Eketahuna and Southland. ' Wanganui B-Lost to West Coast, Wairarapa, Wellington and Southland. By defeating Canterbury in the plav off by four goals to one, Wairarapa won the championship with tho very fine scoring performance of forty goals for and two against in six matches. Tho actnal scoring in the two sections, despite big wins and losses, was very even—B9 being shot in the A Section and 84 in the B Section; whilo, if tho final scores aro added, they are still closer—9o and 88 respectively.
