ARMED MERCHANTMEN. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright. LONDON, May 14. The "Homing Post" states that it is hoped that the principal liners to Australia, Canada and South Africa will shortly he armed, the Admiralty proyiding guns and possibly a hundred " • rounds per ship. The gun crews will y mostly be naval reservists. The Admiralty will pay the gun crews an extra threepence per day and gun layers ninepence per day. Naval Reserve officers at the terminal ports will be responsible for training.
