ACHRAY ESTATE.

SOLD BY PUBLIC AUCTION.

The Acbray Estate, Amuri, containing 8268 acres freehold, was put up for sale by auction in the Alexandra Hall to-day by Messrs Dalgety and Co., on behalf of the executors in the estate of the late Mr Alexander Macfarlane. Thee was a very largo attendance. The land was subdivided into fourteen blocks of agricultural and pastoral land, well fenced and watered. 'He land was offered on the following terms:—Five per cent cash on fall of hammer; 5 pe-r cent on possession, May 14; 10 per cent on January 1, 1914; balance on January 1, 1919, with interest at 5 per cent. The Achray Estate adjoins Rotherhain township, seven miles from Culverden. The areas of the blocks were:—Lot 1. 454 acres; lot 2, 256 acres; lot 3, 471 acres; lot 4, 439 acres 1 rood; lot 5, 434 acres; lot 6, 1815 acres; lot 7 , 502 acres; lot 8, 527 acres; lot 9, 2000 acres; lot 10, 440 acres 2 roods; lot 11, 335 acres; lot 12, 521 acres; lot- 13, 56 acres; lot 14, 17 acres 2 roods.

Tbc auctioneer, Mr W. J. Stewart, said that the estate had been in the Macfarlane family for forty years, and was therefore "being sold practically first hand. The proposed extension of the railway to Waiau •would, if carried into effect, pass close to the estate.
