ALLEGED ATTEMPTED MURDER.
ACCUSED ARRESTED. [Pick Pivkss Association.} DANNEVIRKE, February 3. Hamiora Reweti, otherwise known as Sam Davis, was arrested at Tahoraiti on Saturday night, charged with attempting to shoot his wife. It is alleged that there was an altercation, and tho husband told his wife that he would shoot her. The wife ran away, and tho husband followed with a loaded gun. A daughter attempted to wrest the gun away, and held her father till assistance arrived. The police were rung up, and Reweti was arrested. Sam David was charged at the Court this morning with attempting to shoot his wife. The latter declined to give evidence against him, but his eleven-year-old daughter did so. Accused pleaded not guilty, and was committed for trial. Bail was allowed, aocused in £2OO and two sureties of £IOO each.
