RECIPROCITY.
CANADA AND THE UNITED STATES. THE COST OF LIVING. United Press Association—By Elcctrio Telegraph—Copyright. (Received February 3, 10 a.m.) LONDON, February 2. A "Washington message says that Uio farmers are protesting against the Democratic Free List Bill' on the ground that placing cereals, meats and other foodstuffs on it will give the Canadians more advantages than the defunct Reciprocity Bill.
Mr Woodrow Wilson insists' on the passage of the Underwood Free-' List measure, defeated at the last session of Congress. He saye that the Congress Democrats will break faith with the people if they do not take steps to reduce the cost of living.
Canadian Press comments % indicate that Canada will thus gain ns many advantages as if reciprocity had been passed, while giving nothing in return.
