The Newcastle Labour Council supports the Burwood wheelers and the Colliery Employees' Federation. The Newcastle Labour Council sent a deputation to Mr Carmiehael, the Labour Minister, regarding the. Burwood men, and it was.agreed that the men should be recommended to resume under the conditions required by tho manager, wliereupon the question in dispute, namely, the time of starting, could be referred t.<> Judge Scholos for immediate investigation, and the other matters could be referred to the general tribunal subsequently. Mr Carmiehael is hopeful that the recommendations will be accepted.
