A heavy thunderstorm and hurricane passed over Glen Innes, The rainfall will benefit the crops and lay the dust. ■A thunderstorm at Armidale fused the telephone wires-, and in one residence the inmates' received a 1 severe shock. Other districts report severe thunder and' lightning following the heat wave. BRISBANE, January 31. • A cyclone is raging at Cairns with terrific wind, and rain l and - mountainous seas ,on the coast. The shipping is sheltering. There was slight daftiage to houses at Port Douglas, and the young cane :crops are affected. . ADELAIDE, January 31. Cyclone disturbances are reported at Darwin, ■ accompanied by, heavy rain. ;
